Green Flag Motoring Assistance was established in 1971 as a National Breakdown Club.  By 1989 it had more than one million members.

Green Flag has always tried to offer value and service, with incentives to switch from the AA and RAC services, such as discounts and penalty payments. Thye claim to be the first to have offered 1) a 'get-you-home' service 2) motorway recovery and 3) the use of freephone numbers. The competitive spirit that Green Flag was founded on has been their formula for success.

Green Flag is the only motoring assistance provider that promises £10 cash back if they do not arrive within the hour. The promise is made regardless of time of day, weather or location. Although we would like to hear if anyone stranded in the snow has been rescued by Snow Plough.  

Green Flag responds to over one million calls for assistance each year. Their network of independent service providers gives customers access to 6,000 UK and 15,000 European mechanics.
