Basil
Rathbone is an Inspector in the Metropolitan police and Scotland Yard
Commissioner, who is passionate about his vintage 1899 Wolseley. A car he
drives in the London to
Brighton Run. He is somewhat concerned that the Cannonball Run might
involve road racing and speeding by the drivers of the faster cars
entered. He does not like the competition the event poses to the L2B. But,
in the end takes a shine to the Volkswagen that trounces the other
competitors, and the truly sportsman like conduct of the Watson family.
