Plywood formers were slotted onto softwood runners at regular intervals to determine the basic shape of the bodywork. It's like a giant jigsaw puzzle at this stage. Good drawings and a cutting list are essential to efficient production. Not to mention a good supply of materials. Harcross Timber & Building Supplies very kindly donated the plywood, plaster and polystyrene used to make this mould, now on display at Filching Manor Motor Museum, near Polegate in East Sussex. Jewson have since taken over the Harcross company. At time of writing BE3 has no corporate timber sponsor. If your company would like to offer support to the BE3 project, we would like to hear from you.
