The highly acclaimed Lynch pancake motors were to be used in racing form - i.e. balanced matched units. Four of these motors driving two propellers via chains also powered Fiona the Countess of Arran to attain the first officially recognised water speed world record in An Stradag. As may be seen from the above photograph, independent suspension was via unequal length wishbones and modified (Isigonis) rubber cones compressed by pushrods. This arrangement was not only simple and cost effective, but also reduced the all up weight of the vehicle. At time of writing BE3 has no corporate motor/controller sponsor.
